Customer membership terminology
Herbalife Preferred Member Benefits: What Has Changed?
Preferred Member is a long-established Herbalife customer term. The name has changed in the United States, while Preferred Member or Preferred Customer may still be the current personal-use option in other countries.
In the United States
The former Herbalife Preferred Member program transitioned to Herbalife Wellness Rewards. U.S. customers can use the free Wellness Rewards membership or choose the optional annual Wellness Rewards VIP membership for additional eligible benefits.
Outside the United States
Preferred Member or Preferred Customer may still be the current customer membership name. The available name, fees, discounts and benefits depend on the customer’s country of residence.
What Is an Herbalife Preferred Member?
An Herbalife Preferred Member—or Preferred Customer in some markets—is generally a customer who joins to purchase Herbalife products primarily for personal or household use and receive the customer benefits available in that country. It is separate from becoming an Herbalife Independent Distributor.
The exact program name and terms vary by market. For that reason, visitors should select their country during registration and review the current local agreement before joining.
Preferred Member vs. Wellness Rewards VIP
The relationship is best understood as former U.S. program versus current U.S. program. It should not be interpreted as a worldwide name change, because Preferred Member and Preferred Customer terminology may continue in other countries.
| Topic | Former U.S. Preferred Member | Current U.S. Wellness Rewards VIP |
|---|---|---|
| Program status | Previous U.S. customer membership structure | Current optional paid VIP level within Wellness Rewards |
| Terminology | Preferred Member | Bronze, Silver and Gold VIP |
| Savings structure | Based on the former program rules | Tier-based eligible discounts generally calculated from suggested retail price |
| Progression | Based on previous qualification rules | Cumulative qualifying product spend while annual VIP membership remains active |
| Rewards | Benefits under the former program | Wellness Rewards Points and current eligible program benefits |

Which Membership Route Fits You?
Outside the United States, the customer route may still be called Preferred Member or Preferred Customer. Visitors can generally explore either a personal-use customer option or the separate Distributor opportunity, subject to local availability.
Personal Use: Preferred Member or Preferred Customer
Consider the customer route if your primary purpose is to purchase products for yourself or your household and access locally available customer benefits.
Business: Independent Distributor
Consider the Distributor route if you want to sell products, serve customers and explore building an Herbalife business. Requirements and fees vary by country.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Herbalife Preferred Member still exist?
Preferred Member or Preferred Customer may still exist as the current personal-use customer option outside the United States. In the United States, the former Preferred Member program transitioned to Herbalife Wellness Rewards.
Is Preferred Customer the same as Preferred Member?
The terminology varies by country. Both terms can describe a customer membership intended primarily for personal or household purchases, but the applicable local agreement determines the exact status and benefits.
Can a Preferred Member sell Herbalife products?
No. A customer membership does not provide Distributor rights. A person interested in selling products or developing a business must apply separately as an Herbalife Independent Distributor, subject to local requirements.
Can someone choose between customer membership and Distributor registration?
Where both routes are available, yes. The customer route is designed for personal use, while the Independent Distributor route is intended for selling products and pursuing the business opportunity.
